Across different cultures, hares are often seen as symbols of resilience, adaptability, and survival. In many traditions, the hare is associated with the moon and intuition, and is seen as a guide through periods of change and uncertainty.

Here the hare has a silver band around its neck, silver is widely associated with purity, clarity, protection, and the moon. While it primarily symbolises adaptability and durability, silver can also be used as a tangible representation of resilience and inner strength.

Woven into the Silver Band are holly leaves. In Ogham lore Hollys’ ability to endure through the winter was an energy that was harnessed to overcome difficulties or periods of hardship physically, emotionally or spiritually. Holly encouraged users to raise their life force and make it through to the spring.

This image was made using non-toxic copper-sulphate etching onto an aluminium plate. The plate was hand inked and printed on a traditional etching press. It is printed on soft, white somerset paper.
It is one of an edition of 50, all handprinted. Each print is signed, numbered, and titled by the artist. Please note, your print will not be the same edition number as the photo.

The image itself is 15 x 15 cm. Each print is packed with cellophane and archival tissue, has a board backing, is carefully wrapped and posted flat in a stiff cardboard envelope.
